Averi Wolf,  Ellie Armstrong, Morgan Vereb, and I worked on creating a potential redesign for the Emerging Tech Studio at the Ohio State University. This was a one-week project where industrial, interior, and visual communication students collaborated to create a tech studio that allowed students to experiment with new technology while feeling comfortable. Many students who use this center don't have complete knowledge of new technology like VR or photogrammetry which makes the current studio intimidating. In our redesign, we focused on creating a collaborative and comfortable environment.
Existing Emerging Tech Studio
This is the current studio we were tasked with redesigning. One problem that we saw immediately was that there was a disconnect between the user and how the room and the technology is organized.

User Journey/Experience
To begin our redesign, I analyzed the workflows a student would use in the studio while also understanding the way a student would navigate the space. By doing this, I was able to create some key takeaways into how each section of the room could work together to make the studio less intimidating and accessible.
OSU Emerging Tech Studio Redesign
Our redesign is called BOUNDLESS. BOUNDLESS represents limitless discovery offered by the advancement of technology. It encourages the exploration of the digital realm made accessible by new tools, such as virtual reality. BOUNDLESS pioneers emerging tech by establishing a space that supports the needs of an ever-evolving community, considering an immersive and flexible experience to foster a sense of adventure without hesitation.
