Dunya (دنيا - the temporal world) is a studio and lab dedicated to bridging cultural research, creative agency, and collective power to reimagine our futures. Dunya as a concept embodies our lived experiences in a shared world. As individuals in a collective community, we hold the ability to engage in shared knowledge production and creative exploration to build a just and liberated dunya.
Dunya's research lab will focus on exploring various creative practices surrounding culture, creativity, and power through collective research and making. These projects or campaigns will work towards building conversation, confidence, shared knowledge, and creative agency. Within these projects, there will be many opportunities for collective work, skill sharing, and community building. These projects will range from creative research to sharing creative practices to co-creative explorations.
Dunya's creative studio will work towards creating an open source and toolkit library developing independent projects that are aligned with Dunya's mission of bridging cultural research, creative agency, and collective power to reimagine our futures.

ruh (روح - soul) - project coming soon
Ruh (روح - soul) is a narrative-based project that explores historical and contemporary Islamically-inspired practices and cultures within the lens of Islamic Futurism and co-creation. By telling the stories of Muslims’ care, craft, community, and culture, we hope to inspire narrative and confident action centered around alternative futures free from the bounds of colonialism and capitalism.
Ruh (روح) will encourage young adult Muslims to seek and embrace their cultures, identities, and heritage. By immersing ourselves in cultural knowledge, we can carry regenerative traditions and knowledge while intentionally moving towards who we as individuals and communities want to become. Ruh (روح) will work towards discovering arwahunaa (أرواحنا), our souls, as individuals and ruhunaa (روحُنا), our soul, as a global Muslim community. Rather than submit to colonial and capitalist lenses that frame Muslims as threats, we can work with the upcoming generation of Muslims to remind ourselves of our true soul and identity — one guided by justice, regeneration, collective wellness, and liberation for all creation
